Ellen & Brett’s Wedding

The day started out pretty sunny, but by the time the outdoor ceremony started the day had turned to overcast skies with a looming threat of rain. During the ceremony I felt a few drops of rain on my head and later I found out that the officiant shortened up his monologue a bit to accommodate. As a great inside joke, Ellen surprised Brett during the recessional by planting pirate eye patches with the wedding party and all of the guests! Brett had mentioned off hand during the planning stages of the wedding how it’d be great if they could exit to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme music and Ellen told him ‘No way!’ She totally surprised him when everyone donned eye patches and the theme song played as they made their exit!

Continuing the traditions theme, Ellen wore the shoes her mom walked down the aisle in on her wedding day and the cake topper on their cake was first used by Brett’s grandparents back in 1944!

John Mitchell came along to shoot second for me. It was great having him there as he caught some awesome moments! Thanks John!
