Eudoxia & Chris’ Wedding

I met up with Eudoxia at the Seattle Golf Club where she and her girls were getting ready. I love the golf club’s building. It’s gorgeous inside and out and has a very Bavarian feel to it. It was built at the turn of the century and retains an old world charm that you just can’t duplicate in new hotel ballrooms. Needless to say, I love shooting at the Seattle Golf Club! The upstairs has a very large open, airy ballroom which would be perfect for a winter wedding.

After all the ladies were ready to go, we jumped in a van for the short trip over to Dunn Gardens for the ceremony. Chris and his guys were meeting us there. It’s hard to describe how beautiful the gardens are. Set in the midst of a residential neighborhood, when you’re in the middle of them you hardly know there are houses nearby. White wooden chairs were lined up for guest seating. Lilies lined the perimeter of the scene. Large urns of flowers were set at the entrance of the aisle and multi-colored tulle was draped across an arbor at the front to finish off the ceremony site.

It was a beautiful ceremony there in the serenity of the gardens. The sight of Eudoxia’s dad so lovingly turning back her veil was precious and the permanent grin on Chris’ face was priceless. These two are going to be very happily married.

After the ceremony the entire wedding attendance was ushered over to a large lawn where I caught a great group portrait with me perched on top of a 12 foot ladder. As the guests were shuttled over to the Seattle Golf Club to start the cocktail hour the family and bridal party stayed behind for a few portraits.

The reception was so much fun! This group of friends always throws a great party and Eudoxia & Chris’ wedding was no exception. The dancing was awesome and I caught plenty of frames of the newly married Shannon and Matt Hermsen having fun on the dance floor as well as Stephanie and Jeff Shulman who were also in attendance.

Mitch from Cabfare Productions was there to create what I’m sure will be an exquisite wedding video of their day and Billy Mac and his band provided the entertainment. The gorgeous cake (click for a photo) was crafted by pastry Chef Kathryn Jones of Divine Confections. (Her cake was stunning! It’s one of my favorites of this year.)
