Boeing 787 Rollout
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to attend Boeing’s 787 Rollout party at the Everett factory. Having a wife that helped draw the trailing edge of the wings has it’s perks.
There were A LOT of people attending the rollout including more distinguished guests than you can shake a stick at.
Tom Brokaw was the MC for the event. This was the highlight for Sara I think as she really liked him on the news.

There were speeches from all over the world and from all parts of the aerospace industry given before the unveiling. They even invited flight attendants from all of the carriers who have orders for the new plane.

Keep reading after the break to see photos of the new plane.
The president of All Nippon Airways was there and had a prerecorded speech displayed on the big screen behind Brokaw’s head. After the speech he was pointed out in the crowd.

After all the speeches they unveiled the plane by opening the factory’s gigantic doors.

The new plane is beautiful and very graceful looking with it’s up swept wings and curvy surfaces. A plane as large as an airliner is difficult to photograph in whole without sacrificing distractions in your images so I opted to go for detail and nuance instead.
