Alexa & Camilo’s Engagement Session in Vancouver, BC

Alexa and Camilo love Vancouver and routinely drive up for long weekends away from home. On one of their weekends away in Canada, Camilo proposed on the beach. A few weeks ago I joined them in Vancouver to spend the day enjoying their favorite city. After meeting up at the hotel I jumped in their car and we headed to Grainville Island to check out the farmers’ market. We bought some cheese and a bit of meat and had a snack out on the pier before taking a freakishly small water taxi boat across the river to check out an oyster house they love. Unfortunately it was closed! So, we had coffee at a nearby coffee house and took off to the park out on the peninsula.

The weather was crazy that day! It rained then it would thunder and lightning for a while before clearing up and the sun would break out of the clouds. It made for seriously dramatic skies all day long. I was loving all the changing lighting conditions! Woo Hoo! After checking out the park and the beach we went back to the hotel for a bit to wait for sunset. The light was beautiful when we got to the beach where Camilo proposed to Alexa. On the grass just inland from the beach the city had commissioned an art piece. It looks just like an enormous engagement ring! How cool is that?! We bid farewell to the sun on the beach and took off for the Banana Leaf restaurant for dinner. It was awesome Malaysian cuisine. We then headed over to Cardero’s on the waterfront for a nightcap. What a perfect end to the perfect day.

Needless to say, I had a great time spending the day with Alexa & Camilo. They showed me around Vancouver like natives and it was a treat to see all their favorite places and restaurants in the city. Thanks Alexa and Camilo! I can’t wait for your wedding!
