Wenatchee Apple Blossom Parade

My wife Sara and I grew up in a small town in Eastern Washington called Wenatchee. It’s a small community that 20 years ago was based primarily on the fruit industry. As such, it has many ties back to apples. The Apple Blossom Festival is THE big event of spring where the Wenatchee High School senior girls get a chance to become part of the Apple Blossom ‘Royalty’ for the year and the whole city participates in the street fair and other happenings.

The culmination of Apple Blossom week is the Grand Parade on Saturday morning. I remember this parade well from my High School days of attending WHS. I was in the school marching band where I played alto Saxophone and the band marches in the Grand Parade every year.

My kids love the parade so we go back almost every year and take them down to watch the floats and the high school bands from all the small towns across Washington.
